In India, the administration of rural development has been carried out by the Block Development Office, related government offices and “Panchayati Raj System”. It also looks into the role of rural people in the administration of rural development mainly through participation in the Panchayati Raj System.
There is a special type of local governance in the Indian villages known as Panchayat Raj. But even these officials need help carrying out their policies. This is when the government officers come in.
The Urban Administration is also known as municipal governance. It takes care of all the duties which seek the comfortability of people living in urban areas. It takes care of the responsibility like a sweeper sweeping the streets early in the morning to switch on the street lights during the night.
A Nagar Panchayat or Town Board is a form of an urban political unit in India comparable to a municipality. An urban centre with more than 11,000 and less than 25,000 inhabitants is classified as a “Nagar Panchayat”. Each Nagar Panchayat has a committee consisting of a chairman with ward members.

Rural Administration Meaning Rural administration refers to the initiatives undertaken by the government to govern the public affairs of the rural population and administer to them the benefits the state provides. It has different layers and divisions of different authorities for districts, taluks, villages and towns.
